Zhang Weiguo said that Hubei Province is located in the central and eastern part of China and north of Dongting Lake in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, so it is called Hubei, or E or Chu for short. Hubei Province is about 740 kilometers long from east to west, 470 kilometers wide from north to south, and covers an area of 185,900 square kilometers, accounting for 1.94% of the country's total area, ranking 16th in the country. With a population of about 60.278 million people, the province has 12 provincial cities including Wuhan and Huangshi. The capital city is Wuhan.
