(Jakarta News) Organized by the Shandong Provincial Government, the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and co-organized by the India-China Chamber of Commerce Council, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shantung Province Branch CCPIT and Shantung Provincial Government relevant departments, and has received the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Representative in Indonesia The China (East)-Indonesia Enterprise Exchange Meeting supported by the Office will be held grandly in the banquet hall of Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on March 5, 2024 (Tuesday).
Song Junji, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, said that over the years, Shandong and Indonesia have marched side by side on the road of friendly cooperation and achieved fruitful results. Last year, the import and export between the two sides reached 64.16 billion yuan, and our province invested US$24.857 million in Indonesia, an annual increase of 105.9%. So far, a total of 29 Indonesian companies have settled in Shandong, with actual use of foreign capital of US$89 million and operating income of 2.11 billion yuan. Facing the future, Shandong is willing to actively promote in-depth and practical exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and strive to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
We look forward to a win-win situation between both parties in trade exchanges. The trade between the two sides is highly complementary and the exchanges of personnel and goods are convenient. Shandong's mechanical and electrical products, textiles and clothing are very popular, while Indonesia's mineral products, rubber and pulp, paper and their products are highly competitive. We are willing to actively build platforms, strengthen practical docking, support enterprises from both sides to explore each other's markets, jointly cultivate trade growth points, and continue to expand the breadth and depth of trade cooperation.
Indonesia has profound cultural accumulation and splendid culture and art. We are willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Indonesia in the fields of culture, tourism, education, youth and other fields, actively organize diverse forms of people-to-people exchange activities, continue to cultivate more friendly envoys, and actually promote people-to-people connectivity and affinity. Zhou Kangong of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia pointed out that for the whole of 2023, the trade volume between China and Indonesia reached US$139.4 billion, and China’s investment in Indonesia reached US$7.4 billion. From the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, to the active promotion of the two governments, the close cooperation between the two countries' enterprises, and the close interaction between the two peoples; from busy industrial parks to smooth roads and bridges, Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles, and convenient communication equipment, the two countries have Stable and long-term cooperation benefits from joint efforts and drive at multiple levels and in multiple fields. Thanks to the concerted efforts of both parties, Indonesia and China have not only become the two countries in the world with high-speed railways with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Last year, the economic growth rates of both countries exceeded 5%, higher than the global average growth rate, and their performance was brilliant and eye-catching.
