Xiamen University EMBA Alumni Delegation Visits Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to Promote Cooperation
(Jakarta) Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association Vice Chairmen Xue Tianzeng and Chen Xin, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Honorary Chairman Zhong Yanchou, Vice Chairmen Guan Minquan, Yang Qingshun, and Chen Hongping, and Executive Director of the Youth Department Yao Hanbin welcomed a delegation of Xiamen University Executive MBA alumni at the clubhouse at 4:30 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The alumni included Ye Yiyin, President of Fujian Sanye Group Co., Ltd., Lin Haiming, CEO of PT ATX ASIA Sport Products, and Xu Hongyi, General Manager of Jinjiang Bixiang Food Technology Co., Ltd.

Vice Chairman Xue Tianzeng said, "First of all, on behalf of the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to extend a warm welcome and sincere greetings to all of you!"

Xue Tianzeng stated that Indonesia's economy is currently booming. Last year, Indonesia's GDP reached approximately US$1.4 trillion, with a growth rate of 5.03%. Industries such as manufacturing, mining, technology, communications, and green energy are showing strong momentum. Indonesia, with a total population of approximately 280 million, is the world's fourth most populous country. With a young population, abundant labor force, and enormous consumption potential, it provides a solid market foundation for investors across various industries.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence. The Indonesian government's 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan aims to achieve its goal of becoming one of the world's top five economies by the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, thus realizing the vision of a "Golden Indonesia." Currently, the Indonesian government is actively promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, encouraging investment and development in emerging industries such as the digital economy, green energy, and digital technology. According to the latest Positive Investment List, with the exception of a few restricted sectors, over 200 industries, including manufacturing, digital technology, financial services, modern logistics, and green energy, are now fully open to foreign investment. Some industries, such as infrastructure, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and some oil and gas facilities, allow 100% foreign ownership. However, restrictions still exist in certain sectors, such as finance, communications, and construction.

Xue Tianzeng pointed out that according to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Investment, Indonesia received 171.42 trillion rupiah (approximately US$105 billion) in foreign investment last year, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%. Of this, investment from mainland China and Hong Kong reached US$8.1 billion and US$8.2 billion, respectively, ranking second only to Singapore's US$20.1 billion, making them the top three sources of foreign investment in Indonesia.

It is worth noting that Indonesia also has the largest overseas Chinese population in the world. The ancestors of Indonesian Chinese mostly hail from Fujian, Guangdong, and other regions. The Fujian clan network has established a natural cultural bond and foundation of trust for cooperation between India and China.

Xue Tianzeng further stated that Indonesia is currently in a "golden window of development," characterized by stable policies, a vast market, and both opportunities and challenges. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association welcomes and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Xiamen's business and academic communities to achieve win-win cooperation and write a new and more glorious chapter under the Belt and Road Initiative and the vision of "Golden Indonesia 2045." Finally, I sincerely wish all friends a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia.

Ye Yiyin pointed out that this visit to Indonesia was primarily aimed at exploring the local market and identifying new development opportunities. The purpose of the visit was to explore cooperation and exchange between China and Indonesia. As a key investment destination in Southeast Asia, and particularly in the Belt and Road Initiative, Indonesia holds a key position. The delegation hopes this exchange will strengthen connections and learning between the two peoples. She also briefly introduced the history of the EMBA program and its status among Chinese business schools.
