(Jakarta) On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM, a 12-member delegation led by Zhang Chunhua, President of the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce, was welcomed at the Chamber's premises. The delegation included Liu Junlin, Executive Vice President of the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce, and Wang Zhijun, Vice President.
President Zhang Jinxiong extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association.
He stated that Indonesia, as the world's fourth most populous country with 280 million people, more than half of whom are under 30 years old, possesses abundant labor resources, a huge consumer market, and enormous economic potential. Indonesia also possesses abundant natural resources, boasting the world's largest nickel reserves, and ranking among the world's top in reserves of gold, silver, copper, aluminum, and tin. It is also the world's largest exporter of palm oil and coal, providing a solid foundation for Indonesia's industrialization and sustainable development.
As the largest economy in ASEAN, Indonesia's GDP totaled approximately US$1.4 trillion last year, maintaining an economic growth rate of over 5% annually, making it the only ASEAN country with a GDP exceeding US$1 trillion. Indonesia has long been considered a "ballast" and growth engine for the regional economy. In recent years, the Indonesian government has vigorously promoted infrastructure construction, digital transformation, and industrial upgrading, continuously improving its investment environment, and has now become one of the world's most attractive emerging markets.
Zhang Jinxiong stated that in the first half of this year, Indonesia attracted US$26.34 billion in foreign direct investment, of which US$8.2 billion came from mainland China and Hong Kong, second only to Singapore's US$8.8 billion, ranking as Indonesia's second-largest source of foreign investment.
Indonesia and China have been friendly neighbors since ancient times, with a long history of cultural exchanges. In recent years, cooperation between the two countries has become even closer, with bilateral trade and investment steadily increasing. Last year, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$147.8 billion, and direct investment from mainland China and Hong Kong in Indonesia reached US$16.3 billion, covering multiple sectors including mining, digital economy, green energy, and infrastructure, injecting strong momentum into Indonesia's economic development.
Zhang Jinxiong stated that Shenzhen is a successful example of China's reform and opening up, attracting numerous world-class technology companies and serving as a global hub for technological innovation. We sincerely welcome the Shenzhen Municipal Government and entrepreneurs to frequently visit Indonesia, bringing Shenzhen's innovative models and successful experiences to Indonesia, and combining Shenzhen's technological innovation capabilities with Indonesia's resource advantages. We believe this will create greater value and benefit the people of both regions.
Zhang Jinxiong further pointed out that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to play its role as a bridge and link, providing necessary support and assistance to friends from the Shenzhen Municipal Government, the Chamber of Commerce, and the business community who come to Indonesia for inspection and cooperation.
