(Jakarta) A delegation led by Lin Chunhong, a second-level inspector of the Hainan Provincial CCPIT, and representatives from enterprises including Peng Shuitao of the Haikou Weimin Supply and Marketing Cooperative, visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 11:30 a.m. on October 30, 2025 (Thursday). They were warmly welcomed by Vice Chairman Jiang Miaocheng, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Honorary Chairman Chen Zhikun, Vice Chairman Lin Songshi, Honorary Chairmen Zhong Yanchou, Huang Zhiyong, and Xiao Shiping, as well as Chairman Si Jiabao and Vice Chairman Luo Shunbao of the Indonesian Hainan Chamber of Commerce.
Vice Chairman Jiang Miaocheng stated that Indonesia is a world-renowned archipelago nation with over 17,000 islands, rich in natural resources, tourism resources, and agricultural and fishery industries. With a total population exceeding 280 million, it is the fourth most populous country in the world, with a median age of less than 30, providing ample human resources and strong support for Indonesia's economic growth.
Furthermore, Indonesia is the location of the ASEAN headquarters and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, accounting for 40% of ASEAN's total economic output, making it one of ASEAN's important markets. As of 2024, Indonesia's GDP totaled approximately US$1.4 trillion, with an economic growth rate consistently above 5%. Even in the current economic environment, it continues to maintain strong growth, fully demonstrating the potential of the Indonesian economy.
Jiang Miaocheng pointed out that the Indonesian government also highly values attracting foreign investment, having introduced a series of preferential policies such as the Omnibus Employment Act and the New Investment List, simplifying business registration procedures and relaxing restrictions on foreign investment access. This has not only enhanced foreign investors' confidence in the Indonesian market but also increased Indonesia's attractiveness in the global industrial chain.
In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China has become increasingly close. Indonesia has become one of China's important trading partners. Last year, bilateral trade between Indonesia and China reached US$147.8 billion, and China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years. In terms of investment, mainland China and Hong Kong invested a total of US$16.3 billion in Indonesia last year, ranking among the top three sources of foreign investment in Indonesia for many years. In the first half of this year, bilateral trade between Indonesia and China reached US$70.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. Cooperation between the two sides in agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, energy, and the digital economy has continued to achieve new breakthroughs, bringing new opportunities to enterprises on both sides.
Jiang Miaocheng further stated that Hainan, as a high-level platform for China's opening up, occupies a crucial position within the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, boasting unique geographical advantages. In recent years, guided by the Belt and Road Initiative, Hainan has achieved remarkable development, becoming a vital hub for trade and economic exchanges between China and Southeast Asian countries. We sincerely welcome Hainan enterprises to visit Indonesia, experience its development vitality, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, as a bridge for people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, will continue to leverage its platform advantages to provide necessary support and assistance for bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Finally, we wish everyone a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia.
Lin Chunhong pointed out that our main purpose in visiting Indonesia is to participate in the 2025 China (Indonesia) International E-commerce Industry Expo, held from October 29th to 31st, 2025 at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center (JI Expo). This visit to Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in trade and other fields in the future. The official customs clearance for Hainan Island will commence on December 18, 2025, with the goal of establishing the entire island as a special customs-supervised zone. We sincerely welcome entrepreneurs from Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to witness this historic moment.
