(Jakarta) On October 13, 2025 (Monday) at 4:30 pm, a delegation from the Macau Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, including President Wang Bincheng, Vice Presidents Liang Meiman, Wang Guorong, Chen Xiaodong, and Tan Zhenjian, Chairman Situ Dilin, Vice Chairmen Wang Sihong, Wang Sihan, Su Jiatu, and Miao Cuier, and Vice Supervisor Su Yinhong, visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association. They were welcomed by Chairman Zhang Jinxiong, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Vice Chairmen Xue Tianzeng and Chen Xin, Supervisory Committee member Liang Yuanan, Treasurer Lin Wenxian, Vice Chairmen Weng Zuhui, Weng Hualing, and Chen Yingdi, Honorary Chairmen Liu Xinhua and Su Shiqun, and Deputy Secretary-General Yang Xinsheng.
Chairman Zhang Jinxiong stated that since its re-establishment in 2001, the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has consistently adhered to its founding principle of "uniting Chinese businesses to promote Indonesia's economic development." It has broadly recruited talented individuals, and its member companies cover multiple sectors including manufacturing, mining, real estate, logistics, finance, and retail. The Chamber actively promotes exchanges and cooperation between Indonesian Chinese businesses and those in China and other countries worldwide.
As the largest economy in ASEAN, Indonesia has a population exceeding 280 million, a young demographic, a vast consumer market, and abundant human resources. Indonesia is also blessed with abundant resources, being the world's largest exporter of coal and palm oil, possessing the world's largest nickel reserves, and ranking among the world's top in reserves of gold, silver, copper, aluminum, tin, and other precious and base metals.
Zhang Jinxiong added that in recent years, the Indonesian government has vigorously optimized the business environment and promoted economic reforms, introducing a series of policies including the Omnibus Employment Act, relaxing foreign investment access, simplifying administrative procedures, and improving regulatory efficiency, providing foreign investors with more convenient, transparent, and predictable institutional guarantees. Indonesia's GDP growth reached 5.12% in the second quarter of this year, exceeding market expectations. Among emerging economies globally, Indonesia's economic growth has consistently ranked among the top.
Currently, with the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative and Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum" strategy, Chinese capital's confidence in Indonesia continues to strengthen. More and more Chinese companies and capital are flowing into Indonesia. In the first half of this year, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$70.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. Last year, direct investment from mainland China, including Hong Kong, in Indonesia reached US$16.3 billion, second only to Singapore, ranking as Indonesia's second-largest source of foreign investment.
Zhang Jinxiong stated that Macao, as a Special Administrative Region of China, possesses unique economic and institutional advantages. The rapid development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area also provides a broad cooperation platform for international companies, including those from Indonesia. Furthermore, Macao and Indonesia share a special emotional bond. Many Indonesian returnees and their descendants have chosen to settle and work in Macao. Familiarity with both cultures and close emotional ties form a natural bond and valuable asset for deepening cooperation between Indonesia and Macao.
Zhang Jinxiong further pointed out that he was very pleased to welcome President Wang Bincheng and his colleagues from the Macao Indonesian Chamber of Commerce to Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association today, and hoped that both sides could use this as an opportunity to establish a long-term and sound communication and exchange mechanism. He also sincerely welcomed everyone to frequently return to Indonesia to experience its vitality and changes, and looked forward to exploring more cooperation opportunities to contribute to the prosperity and development of both regions' economies and societies! Finally, he sincerely wished all friends a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia.
President Wang Bincheng said that the Macao Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, adhering to the principles of patriotism, love for Macao, and service to society, is committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation and cultural interaction between Macao and Indonesia. In the past few years, the Chamber has organized Indonesian exhibitors to participate in exhibitions, enhancing Macao citizens' understanding of Indonesian culture. This year, in cooperation with the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, a reception was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, which received a positive response. In the future, the Chamber will strengthen its ties with Indonesia, promote the implementation of cooperative projects, and improve its service level to create more development opportunities for its members.
Wang Bincheng pointed out that, in addition, we will continue to strengthen ties with the Indonesian government and business community, promote more promising cooperation projects to be implemented in Macao, and improve the level of services provided by the Chamber of Commerce, creating more opportunities and platforms for members to exchange ideas and develop. The Macao Indonesian Chamber of Commerce also looks forward to working hand in hand with all sectors of Indonesian society to jointly explore broader cooperation opportunities.
