It has multiple branches in various provinces and cities across Indonesia, and its member companies cover manufacturing, mining, construction, logistics, finance, retail, and other fields, actively promoting exchanges and cooperation between Indonesian Chinese businesses and those in China, ASEAN, and even other countries around the world. Indonesia boasts a massive market of 280 million people with a median age of under 30. As the world's fourth most populous country, it enjoys a significant demographic dividend, with its economic growth consistently exceeding 5%. Furthermore, Indonesia is blessed with abundant resources, being the world's largest exporter of coal and palm oil, possessing the world's largest nickel ore reserves, and its specialty products such as coffee, bird's nest, and durian enjoy global renown.
Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that Indonesia's rich natural resources naturally complement China's manufacturing advantages and market demand. Currently, the Indonesian government is focusing on emerging sectors such as electric vehicles, new energy, and digital technology, introducing a series of preferential policies including tax breaks and simplified approval processes, making it a hotbed for global investment.
According to official Indonesian statistics, by 2025, Indonesia will attract US$53 billion in foreign direct investment, with US$17.4 billion coming from Singapore, followed by US$10.6 billion from Hong Kong, and mainland China ranking third with US$7.5 billion.
Zhang Jinxiong stated that China has become Indonesia's largest source of foreign investment and has consistently been its largest trading partner. According to the latest statistics, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$167.4 billion in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%, setting a new record! Extensive investment by Chinese companies in Indonesia's electric vehicle, battery, and infrastructure sectors has helped Indonesia upgrade its industries, create jobs, expand markets, and truly achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
The Shanghai International Import Expo (CIIE) is a leading window into China's high-level opening-up and an important platform for global enterprises to share in China's development opportunities. Our Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association highly values the CIIE's worth and influence, and we look forward to more outstanding Indonesian companies and distinctive products entering China and reaching a wider world.
Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that our Chamber of Commerce will continue to fully leverage its role as a bridge and link, promoting economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between our two countries, providing necessary support and assistance for everyone visiting Indonesia, and finally wishing everyone a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia.
Assistant President Zhang Weimin, in detailing the upcoming Shanghai Import Expo (CIIE), stated that the 9th CIIE will be held from November 5-10, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With the theme "New Era, Shared Future," the CIIE is the world's first national-level expo focused on imports.
The Enterprise Business Exhibition adheres to the concept of "comprehensive exhibition, professional organization," featuring six major exhibition areas: Automobiles & Smart Mobility, Medical Equipment & Healthcare, Technology & Equipment, Consumer Goods, Agricultural & Food Products, and Trade in Services. These areas are further divided into sections and special zones, with concentrated displays from the same industry, and a dedicated innovation incubation zone for seed-stage, early-stage, and growth-stage companies. He sincerely invited entrepreneurs from the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to participate in this exchange, bringing high-quality Indonesian products to the Shanghai CIIE and jointly exploring development opportunities.
