(Jakarta) The 2026 "Affection for China, Spring Festival Across the World" cultural performance, jointly presented by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and artists from the China Railway Art Troupe, was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Sun City Restaurant in Jakarta from 6:00 PM. The performance was hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, organized by Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, and co-organized by the China Railway Art Troupe. 1,500 people attended to watch the cultural performance presented by the artists of the China Railway Art Troupe, which received enthusiastic praise from the audience.
Zhang Jinxiong, Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, pointed out that during this festive season of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new, we gathered together to enjoy the "Affection for China, Spring Festival Across the World" cultural performance, hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and organized by Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association. He believed that every guest present shared his excitement and joy. China's modernization has provided a broad stage for overseas Chinese to display their talents and injected strong momentum into global development. Familiar melodies carry memories of distant homelands, and wonderful performances tell stories of patriotism and love for one's homeland. It is hoped that this performance will not only convey China's care and concern for overseas Chinese and the warm blessings of their homeland through literature and art, but also tell the story of a vibrant and prosperous China, and the moving stories of the open-mindedness, inclusiveness, and dream-chasing spirit of the Chinese people in the new era.
Minister Zhou Kan of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia stated that "Affection for China, Spring Festival Across the World" is a cultural brand activity meticulously crafted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and enjoys a global reputation, serving as a bridge connecting civilizations worldwide. The art troupe performing in Jakarta this time boasts a strong lineup, primarily composed of the China Railway Art Troupe, bringing together top domestic artists and outstanding performers. They gave up the opportunity to reunite with their families during the Spring Festival holiday, setting off from China before the Lunar New Year to perform in New Zealand and Australia, among other places, with every show sold out, attracting large audiences from both China and abroad and creating waves of enthusiasm for Chinese culture. This event, held again in Indonesia after a six-year hiatus, is not only eagerly anticipated by the overseas Chinese community but also receives high attention from all sectors of Indonesian society.
Minister Zhou Kan added that this year, Indonesia has upgraded the Spring Festival to a national celebration for the first time, establishing a dedicated National Spring Festival Celebration Committee to organize a series of unprecedented and spectacular Spring Festival activities throughout Indonesia. Three days ago, the Celebration Committee held the "2026 Harmonious Chinese New Year" event in Jakarta, with President Prabowo Subianto attending via video and delivering a warm speech. Vice President Gibran and many Indonesian dignitaries attended the event. This fully demonstrates the Indonesian government's emphasis on bilateral relations and the Indonesian people's acceptance and recognition of Chinese culture. Continued mutual learning and integration between Chinese and Indonesian cultures will undoubtedly deepen the bond between the two peoples and further strengthen Sino-Indonesian relations.
Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, Chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representatives Council, pointed out that our gathering is not only to enjoy the wonderful cultural performances, but also to celebrate the warm friendship, the rich traditions, and the spirit of unity that runs through the Spring Festival celebrations.
I was fortunate to participate in the 2026 National Spring Festival Celebrations. President Prabowo Subianto delivered a video address, encouraging us to unite and expressing his deep hope for the future. I also attended the Spring Festival celebrations organized by the Indonesian Hakka Association and personally experienced the grand Lantern Festival celebrations in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province. The lively and spectacular event was a source of great pride and a symbol of Indonesia's multiculturalism. Najamudin said: "It's clear from these celebrations that the Spring Festival is no longer just a festival for a particular ethnic group or community; it has long been integrated into Indonesia, becoming a joyous celebration shared by all. Therefore, I warmly welcome the 'Affection for China, Spring Festival Across the World' performance troupe to Jakarta, Indonesia. Such activities not only enrich our cultural life but also promote mutual understanding and exchange through art and tradition."

The "Affection for China, Spring Festival Across the World" performance program in Jakarta included highlights such as "A Song of Prosperity" by the China Railway Art Troupe dance team, Li Yang's solo "I Love You, China," and "Riding the High-Speed Rail to See China," Xing Lijun and Han Tao's acrobatic performance "Labor is the Most Glorious," Song Jing's suona performance of "New Tales of the Silk Road" and "Calories," Gao Wenzhi's solo "Good Luck," the dance "Ink and Wash Dress," Jin Xiang's solo "Holding Hands," "Love Across Mountains and Rivers," and "Love You Ten Thousand Years," Li Keshi's magic show "Abundant Wealth," Yan Xiangyu's acrobatic performance "Ambush from Ten Sides," Tang Fei's solo "Moni Mountain" and "Come Back," and the closing dance "Dancing a Magnificent Chapter," among others.
