(Jakarta) The Indonesian Promotion Conference of the 3rd China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Chain Expo"), co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Representative Office in Indonesia and Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, was successfully held at Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association in Jakarta on April 24, 2025. The event aims to introduce the details of the 3rd Chain Expo, provide a platform for Chinese and Indonesian political and business people to have an in-depth understanding of the Chain Expo, and hope to promote more high-quality China-Indonesia cooperation projects to take root. The promotion conference attracted nearly 100 representatives from government agencies, major business associations, leading companies in related industries, financial institutions and media from China and Indonesia.
Zhang Jinxiong, Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, delivered a speech as a co-organizer. He said that the current world economy is facing profound changes and many uncertainties. The holding of the Chain Expo brings together global forces, focuses on supply chain collaboration and innovation, and sends a clear signal that "win-win cooperation is the only way out." He stressed that Indonesia, as the largest economy in ASEAN and an important emerging economy in the world, has a superior business environment, rich natural resources and a vast market. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to play a bridging role and work closely with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to promote cooperation and exchanges between enterprises of the two countries, and look forward to achieving mutual benefit and win-win results through the Chain Expo platform.
Li Hongwei, Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Department of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, delivered an important speech. He first congratulated the successful holding of the promotion conference and pointed out that the Chain Expo, as the world's first national-level exhibition with the theme of supply chain, has been successfully held for two sessions, making positive contributions to promoting the stability and openness of the global industrial chain and supply chain.
Minister Counselor Li stressed that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. Under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two countries, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results, and the links between the industrial chain and supply chain are becoming increasingly close. He particularly pointed out that the current spread of unilateralism and protectionism, the "reciprocal tariff" measures recently announced by the United States against goods exported to the United States from many countries including China and Indonesia, and the resulting tariff war and trade war clouds have seriously impacted the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain. In this context, countries need to deepen cooperation in the industrial chain and supply chain and jointly respond to challenges. China is willing to strengthen strategic docking with Indonesia, promote the establishment of a closer industrial chain and supply chain cooperation system, and achieve common development.
Deden Muhammad, Director of the Export Development Department of Manufacturing Products of the National Export Development Bureau of the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia, said that he hopes that through this Indonesian promotion meeting of the Chain Expo, the exchanges and cooperation between India and China in the fields of economy, trade, investment, etc. will be further strengthened, and greater efforts will be made for the prosperity of the two countries.
Portasius Nggedi, Chairman of the Indonesian National Rural Cooperatives Alliance, introduced the huge scale of the alliance and its important position in Indonesia's agriculture and fishery, and sincerely invited Chinese companies to use the alliance's big data and resources to cooperate in agricultural technology, equipment (especially the agricultural machinery equipment park being built by the alliance), deep processing of agricultural products and other fields. He hopes to deepen cooperation through the Chain Expo platform, introduce advanced technology, and let Indonesia's high-quality agricultural and fishery products go to China and the world.
Widiyanto Saputro, Vice Chairman of Member Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hopes that the third China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo held in Beijing, China from July 16 to 20 this year will further promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade. Chen Weixian, Chairman of Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association, also delivered a speech and emphasized the importance of strengthening supply chain resilience under the current global challenges, expressed APINDO's recognition of the Chain Expo's promotion of cooperation, and encouraged Indonesian companies to actively participate.
In his speech, Santo Widjaja, Chairman of the Indonesian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (INACEB), introduced INACEB as a national exhibition agency and its work in promoting Indonesia's MICE destination. He congratulated the holding of the Chain Expo Promotion Conference and said that INACEB will fully support the 2025 Chain Expo, plan to organize an Indonesian delegation to participate in the conference, and organize Indonesian exhibitors to participate when possible.
Chen Zhikun, Chairman of Indonesian Association of Groups (BAPAMCO Group) and Honorary Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, as an eyewitness, shared his vivid experience and feelings of leading a delegation to participate in the second Chain Expo at the meeting. He mentioned that he attended the Chain Expo welcome dinner, opening ceremony and related forum activities in Beijing, and had in-depth exchanges with relevant government agencies and enterprises, and personally felt the value of the Chain Expo as an international cooperation platform.
Li Feng, chief representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Indonesia, gave a detailed introduction to the Chain Expo. He mentioned that the third Chain Expo will be held in Beijing from July 16 to 20 this year, and will continue to display the six major chains and supply chain service exhibition areas of advanced manufacturing, clean energy, smart cars, digital technology, healthy life, and green agriculture. The Chain Expo focuses on displaying chains, ecology and scenarios, aiming to promote long-term cooperation and common development, and provide Indonesian and ASEAN companies with an excellent opportunity to understand and integrate into China's and even the global supply chain.
At the promotion conference, China International Exhibition Center Group and the Indonesian Convention and Exhibition Bureau signed a cooperation agreement. The Indonesian Convention and Exhibition Bureau will assist in the exhibition and investment promotion work of the third Chain Expo. Moris Nuaimi, Director of the Infrastructure Planning Department of the Indonesian Ministry of Investment and Downstream Development, as well as well-known Indonesian companies such as Sinar Mas Group, Changyou Group, and Indonesia PLI Company and representatives of some Chinese-funded institutions in Indonesia attended the event. The successful holding of this promotion conference has further deepened the understanding of the Chain Expo among all walks of life in Indonesia, and injected new impetus into promoting pragmatic cooperation between Chinese and Indonesian companies in the field of supply chain.
