(Jakarta) A delegation of 18 people led by Director Li Zhuoyuan of the Youth Committee of The Macao Federation of Manufacturers and Merchants, including Deputy Directors Feng Wentao and Liu Zhilong, Standing Committee Members Zhong Bocheng, Huang Shilin, Li Zhiqi, Xie Jun, etc., visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 9:30 am on April 23, 2025 (Wednesday). They were warmly welcomed by Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Honorary Chairman Chen Zhikun, Vice Chairman Lin Songshi, Honorary Chairman Huang Zhiyong, Executive Director of the Youth Department Yao Hanbin, Chairman of The Youth Department of the West Java Branch Zhou Jianbin, Deputy Director of the Youth Department Chen Jinhua and Executive Secretary James Timotius Taroreh, etc. The representatives of both sides had cordial exchanges and strengthened cooperation.
Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang said that first of all, on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to express my warm welcome to Director Li Zhuoyuan and his delegation.
Zhou Weiliang said that Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, with a population of 280 million, ranking fourth in the world. It has rich natural resources, a young population structure, and sustained and stable economic growth. In recent years, Indonesia's GDP has maintained an average annual growth rate of about 5%, and the consumer market has huge potential, providing a broad space for development for companies from all countries.
The Indonesian government attaches great importance to the introduction of foreign investment and has introduced a series of preferential policies, including tax exemptions, simplified approval procedures, and the establishment of special economic zones, to attract more foreign investment and promote domestic economic development. These measures provide excellent opportunities for Macau companies to develop in Indonesia.
Zhou Weiliang pointed out that in recent years, the economic and trade exchanges between Indonesia and Macau have become increasingly close. Macau has unique advantages in tourism, financial services, light industry and other fields, while Indonesia has strong demand in manufacturing, agricultural product processing, digital economy and other fields, and there is broad space for cooperation between the two sides. The industries involved in this delegation - including clothing, knitting, food, catering management, clothing, soap making, technology development, etc., are exactly the areas that the Indonesian market urgently needs to develop.
Indonesia has a huge local consumer market, and with the convenience of the ASEAN Free Trade Area, if Macao enterprises invest and build factories in Indonesia, they can not only meet local needs, but also radiate Southeast Asia and even the global market.
As a "world tourism and leisure center", Macao has full vitality in economic development. We believe that with the innovative spirit and international vision of Macao enterprises, combined with Indonesia's resources and market advantages, the two sides will surely achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and inject new impetus into the economies of the two places.
Zhou Weiliang said that as an important bridge, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to provide necessary assistance and support for everyone's cooperation. Director Li Zhuoyuan said that we led the Youth Committee delegation of the Macau Manufacturers and Merchants Association to visit Indonesia this time mainly to further investigate the local business environment and market investment situation. We hope that through this exchange with the Youth Department of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, we will further strengthen the communication and cooperation between the two sides in various fields in the future.
Executive Director Yao Hanbin pointed out that everyone is welcome to attend today's exchange meeting and briefly introduced the development process from the establishment of the Youth Department to the present. In March 2017, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association established the Youth Department for the new generation of entrepreneur members, regularly organized special seminars, theme lectures and other activities, and provided the Youth Department directors with professional government policy interpretation and professional information analysis in a timely manner to enhance exchanges and discussions.
