(Jakarta) Wang Xiaosong, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, Cai Xinran, Deputy Director of the Office of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Li Qi, translator of the Office of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, visited the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 4:30 pm on July 3, 2025 (Thursday), and were welcomed by General Chairman Zhang Jinxiong, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Vice Chairman Lian Jiehao and Chen Xin, Vice Chairman Weng Zuhui, Weng Hualing, and Li Changzu.
General Chairman Zhang Jinxiong said, first of all, on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to extend a warm welcome and sincere greetings to everyone! Since its re-establishment in 2001, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has always adhered to the founding purpose of "uniting Chinese business enterprises and promoting Indonesia's economic construction". It has now become an important platform for gathering the strength of Chinese businessmen and promoting non-governmental cooperation between India and China. We have always maintained good communication and exchanges with the Heilongjiang Provincial Government. In October last year, Vice Governor Yu Jian led a delegation to visit our association, and the accompanying enterprises successfully reached business cooperation with our members. We very much welcome and look forward to more Heilongjiang enterprises to come to Indonesia to invest and start businesses and share Indonesia's development opportunities!
As we all know, Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and the fourth most populous country in the world. It has a total population of 280 million. Last year, its GDP totaled approximately US$1.4 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 5.03%. It is one of the fastest growing emerging economies in the world. Indonesia has very superior resource endowments. It has the largest nickel ore reserves in the world and is the world's largest exporter of coal and palm oil. It also has abundant resources such as coffee, cocoa, marine fisheries, and tropical fruits, and has broad prospects for market cooperation.
Zhang Jinxiong said that in recent years, the Indonesian government has continued to optimize the business environment, greatly simplified the registration process of enterprises through policies such as the Comprehensive Employment Law, and continuously expanded the field of foreign investment access to provide incentives such as tax relief, providing a broad space for development for entrepreneurs and investors around the world.
Indonesia has always attached great importance to economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges with China. China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years and is also one of Indonesia's main sources of foreign investment! Last year, the total trade volume between the two countries reached US$147.8 billion, and the direct investment from mainland China and Hong Kong in Indonesia reached US$8.1 billion and US$8.2 billion respectively. The investment covers important areas such as infrastructure, manufacturing, digital economy, and green energy, demonstrating the complementarity of the two countries' economies and the resilience of cooperation.
Zhang Jinxiong further stated that Heilongjiang is one of China's most important industrial bases, with rich resources, a sound industrial foundation, and strong scientific and educational strength. It is highly complementary to Indonesia in terms of energy, technology, and market. We very much welcome the Heilongjiang Provincial Government and entrepreneurs to come to Indonesia often to take a look, feel the vitality and opportunities of Indonesia, and continue to write a new chapter of win-win cooperation between Heilongjiang and Indonesia!
Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to actively promote economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two places, and provide necessary support and assistance for everyone to invest and land in Indonesia. Deputy Director Wang Xiaosong also briefly introduced the latest developments of Heilongjiang Province in various fields and industries. She said that as an important agricultural and manufacturing province in China, Heilongjiang Province has continued to expand its opening up to the outside world in recent years and actively built an important platform for docking with the "Belt and Road Initiative". She also looks forward to establishing a closer liaison mechanism with Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to jointly promote more Chinese-funded enterprises to enter Indonesia, and also welcomes entrepreneurs from Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to take time to visit Heilongjiang, sightsee, investigate, and invest in business.
