Zhang Jinxiong said that as the largest economy in ASEAN and one of the fastest growing emerging markets in the world, Indonesia is attracting global attention with its vigorous vitality. In 2024, Indonesia's GDP will be approximately US$1.4 trillion, and its GDP per capita will be nearly US$5,000, maintaining a stable growth of more than 5% throughout the year. Indonesia is blessed with unique natural resources, and its nickel ore reserves rank first in the world, which gives Indonesia an important advantage in the layout of the new energy battery industry. In addition, Indonesia is the world's largest exporter of palm oil and coal, and is also very rich in natural resources such as marine fisheries, tropical fruits, coffee and cocoa, with broad prospects for cooperation.
As the world's fourth most populous country, Indonesia currently has a total population of 280 million, of which more than half are young people under the age of 30, with a superior demographic dividend. At the same time, Indonesia is also the country with the largest overseas Chinese population in the world. There are more than 50 million overseas Chinese, and 20 million Chinese are in Indonesia. Indonesian Chinese are not only the strugglers and contributors to Indonesia's economic development, but also the natural link between India and China.
Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that Indonesia and China have a long history of friendly exchanges, and in recent years, the economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries have become increasingly close. China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years and has been ranked among the top three sources of foreign investment in Indonesia for 9 consecutive years. In 2024, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached 147.8 billion US dollars, mainland China's investment in Indonesia reached 8.1 billion US dollars, and Hong Kong's investment reached 8.2 billion US dollars. The investment covered key areas such as new energy, digital economy, and infrastructure. These investments not only promoted Indonesia's economic development and boosted local employment, but also provided Chinese companies with a broad overseas market and important opportunities.
Zhang Jinxiong further stated that Shandong is a strong economic province in China, and has had close cooperation and fruitful results with Indonesia in recent years. As one of the fastest growing cities in Shandong, Heze has important advantages in modern agriculture, new energy and other fields, which is highly consistent with the needs of Indonesia's industrial upgrading. We welcome the Heze Municipal Government and entrepreneurs to come to Indonesia often to explore the market, jointly participate in Indonesia's current economic construction, and share Indonesia's development dividends.
