(Jakarta) A delegation of six people led by Zhang Xijun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Qingdao Municipal People's Congress, including Li Congguo, director of the Financial Affairs Studio of the Qingdao Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, and Guo Jian, deputy director of the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, etc., November 1 (Friday At 11:30 pm, I visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, and was warmly welcomed by entrepreneurs such as Executive Vice President and Executive Chairman Zhang Jinxiong, Secretary General Zhou Weiliang, Senior Consultant Yang Bingshu, Gao Pengcai, Chen Shedong, Weng Hualing, Xie Yubin and Lin Songshi.
Zhang Jinxiong said that Indonesia attaches great importance to cooperation with China. We are very happy to see that the total trade volume between Indonesia and China reached 77.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, up 22.2% year-on-year. Indonesia has also become one of the 10 ASEAN countries, with the fastest growth rate of trade with China. . In particular, China's import volume from Indonesia has increased significantly, reaching 19.6%. More and more Indonesian brands and Indonesian products have entered the Chinese market and entered the field of Chinese consumers, becoming a popular product and brand by Chinese consumers.
China has been the largest international trading partner in Indonesia for eight consecutive years. Since 2016, China has become the third largest source of investment in Indonesia, and the amount of investment has increased significantly year by year. On July 30 this year, the Indonesian Investment Coordinator (BKPM) released the latest data showing that from January to June 2019, the Chinese mainland invested 2.29 billion US dollars / 16.2%, and Hong Kong invested 1.13 billion US dollars / 9.2 %, ranked third and fourth respectively. China has also become an important force in participating in the construction of Indonesia.
Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association sincerely hopes that the Qingdao Municipal Government and Qingdao entrepreneurs will come to Indonesia to look around, find cooperation opportunities and seek future development. Our Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has played the role of “communication messenger” between Indonesia and China and between the governments, enterprises and business groups of the two countries. In the future, we will also exchange this information, build a platform for cooperation, and make more positive contributions to economic and trade cooperation, social and cultural exchanges between the two sides.
Zhang Xijun first briefly introduced the economic aggregate, marine resources, port throughput, climate, and per capita income of Qingdao. He pointed out that "the investment enterprises of Qingdao enterprises in Indonesia have 13 projects including cement industry, infrastructure and mining, with a total investment of 1.4 billion US dollars. Qingdao's products imported from Indonesia amounted to 1.41 billion US dollars. Indonesian enterprises are in Qingdao. The investment industry includes daily necessities, decorations, etc. Through this exchange, I hope that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to support Chinese companies including Qingdao in Indonesia, and also welcome more Indonesian companies to invest in Qingdao. We will provide assistance to the best of our ability and contribute to the development of trade in Indonesia and Qingdao."
Finally, the two parties signed a memorandum of cooperation at the meeting.
